Spirit & Tradition

As we spend every off season preparing for the following summer, I love how the Poyntelle traditions are at the center of everything we think about and we cherish the role that each of our campers and staff members play in making those traditions come alive.

Right now, they’re just words on a screen or a spreadsheet. But when you’re out with your bunkmates at Blueberry Hill or cruising the lake at Twilight Boating, there’s an energy that makes them come alive and keeps us coming back to them year after year.

Only at Poyntelle could a silly dance with your Non-Bunk Staff be repeated endlessly in the dining room. Only at Poyntelle can blobs, breakouts and Nancy Tucker mean something so completely different and special than in the real world.

Traditions get to change, grow and start with us every summer. From Bill and Myra’s Hebrew Word of the Day to singing with them on Friday mornings, to Jodi’s Kindness Wall in the Dining Room…we love to see your excitement as your passion and spirit creates a new camp tradition and continues others that have been part of our community for generations.

We get to cherish our traditions of old and start new traditions each summer at Poyntelle. We get to introduce them to our new campers and your energy and love for Poyntelle makes those moments grow into something special, meaningful and unique…just as you grow into a special, meaningful and unique person!

We can’t wait to be back with you at camp and watch you bring our traditions alive again in 2019. We’re excitedly waiting to see what new traditions we can add together. Let’s spend 50 days of really terrible line up jokes together.
